Early memories are of her grandfather, when he showed her how to draw and make paper dolls. She advanced to backyard mud pies and then
mixed colors for finger painting. Art has always been a part of her life, so there was never a specific time when she declared herself an artist.
Her formal training began at Pasadena City College. She has taken numerous workshops with established artists: Jo Sonja Jensen, Helen Barrick,
Libby Tolley, Joy Krull, Doug Bond, Art Sherwyn, Steve Kellogg, and Kris Doe.
As an adult, her first years were devoted to Decorative Painting. She studied under Jo Sonja, who is acknowledged to be at the top of her
field world wide. The painting was done on wood, walls, murals, furniture, and fabric. All required attention to detail, color and shadow.
She later experimented with acrylic, oil and watercolor. Currently, she is concentrating on oil. Each painting required many hours to complete
and reflects the joy she feels when doing her work.
Her work has been recognized through numerous awards.
