Bobbye West-Thompson
Bobbye is a fourth generation Californian having spent most of her life along the coast from San Diego to Santa Cruz. She is a former teacher both in the private and public sectors, was a Project Director for the Big Blue Marble Children's TV series and, for 12 years prior to her retirement, owned a tutoring center developing SAT prep courses, reading and math instruction. Bobbye uses vibrant colors in pastels and watercolor to render work often inspired by walks with her four-legged companions in and around San Luis Obispo County.   She also paints still lifes from photo set ups done in her studio.  She has been juried into shows in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara and Coos Bay, Oregon.
She will share the Featured Artist spotlight at Morro Bay Art Association, in August 2010, and is also a member of Santa Clara Watercolor Society and El Camino Art Assn. She and her husband recently returned to the Central Coast and now live in Los Osos. Although Bobbye is not formally trained, she has attended several workshops in watercolor and pastel. She has been painting since early retirement, just a few years ago, and now thoroughly enjoys a new dimension to her life long love of art.   Contact  Bobbye West-Thompson
