Starting Jan. 26th, 2010, Gallery will be open Wednesday - Sunday:  12:00 to 3:30 p.m. 
Prior to Jan. 26th,  Gallery will be open only Friday and Saturday.
Admission is Free.

The event should showcase your best works of art to the community and visitors. This is a wonderful time to share with the public the vast range of styles found in the ranks of Cambria Allied Arts.                       POLICY for the display of art for ALLIED ARTS ASSOCIATION

A series of exhibits will occur, approximately monthly, through the calendar year. Each exhibit will be curated, organized and displayed only by the personnel previously authorized by the Gallery Board.  While a traditional general membership show is an option, the team may choose themes, featured artist(s), specific genres, 2- or 3-dimensional art forms, crafts or folk art, as deemed feasible for display and safety.  Each exhibit team will have exclusive artistic control over the choice and placement of artworks within the limits of the CUSD use agreement and the broader standards of the community.  The exhibit team will participate in the exchange days preceding and following its show and insure the space for the incoming exhibit is clean and neat.  

                                          Eligibility

  • Members and non members of Allied Arts Association.
  • Two or three dimensional media is accepted.
  • All works of art must be executed within the last two years & be original.
  • No work will be accepted that is from other artist’s work, photographs of published material.
  • Photographs shall be from digital software or darkroom processes and have been taken within the last two years.

 

                            Requirements for Showing Work

  • Paintings must be wired straight across the back, approximately 1/3rd down from the top and the wire must be taut.
  • Wrap-around canvasses don’t have to be framed if painted on the sides & no staples are showing.
  • Encaustic paintings don’t have to be framed.
  • Sculpture and ceramic work must be self standing or with its own supports supplied by the artist.
  • AA reserves the right to reject work which is not dry, not properly wired, or of a size and weight not appropriate. Works that are unsuitable or don’t meet the criteria for the show may also be rejected
  • Bin work and Cards may be brought in at the same time as the show entry day. Please inquire about Bin/Card Policy for details on the web page or in the gallery.

                                          Sales and Fees

  • AA shall retain a 30% commission on any sales.
  • There is a non-refundable entry fee of $5.00 per item.  Displaying artists are expected to serve as a docent once during the show.  If unable to serve as a docent, a flat $10.00 fee is required, regardless of the number of pieces entered.
  • Only two entries per artist unless specified on prospectus.
  • Fees for 3 dimensional works are as listed above.
  • Fees for multiple small works or work in display cases will be determined by the exhibit’s organizing team.
  • Fees for juried shows may be higher.
  • Non members of AA are charged a $25.00 fee for entry.
  • Up to 5 original, matted paintings per artist may be placed in the bins for a single show with an entry fee of $1.00 each. Card fee is $1.00 per 10 cards.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • All work must be picked up on time. $5.00 a day will be charged for storage. After 30 days it becomes the property of AA to be disposed of in an appropriate manner.
  • Payment for artwork sold will be mailed to the artist’s current address at the end of each month for amounts of $10.00 (ten dollars) or more.

                                      Artist Responsibility

  • Provide a current biography or artist statement for the Artist Information Binder. 
  • Artist in the show are expected to help staff the gallery during the show.
  • All art work must be signed in and out on an itemized inventory list by the artist or their agent on exchange days only.
  • Artist or their agent may replace art work sold before show closing date.
